Gordon qualified as a Doctor in 1998 from Manchester University after gaining a BSc at St Andrews University, Scotland.  He completed his Specialist Rotation Training in the West Midlands and achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2006. He and his family then spent 12 months abroad on a lower limb reconstruction fellowship in Toronto, Canada. During this time he progressed his specialist interest in primary and revision hip and knee surgery.

He was selected as the Divisional Nominee for the Zane Cohen Clinical Achievement Award from the University of Toronto. This award is for outstanding clinical and research achievements.

Gordon was appointed as a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon at Torbay Hospital in January 2010. His interests include Hip Resurfacing/Replacement/Revision Arthroplasty, Uni-compartmental /Total Knee Replacement/Revision Surgery. He also gained considerable experience with computer navigated hip resurfacing & knee replacement from his fellowship.
